I've come across : F48633 Herbert Kay RNAS.
Born Penistone, Yorkshire, 29 March 1900 so, presumably, didn't join up until 1918. Does anyone know anything about him ?
Thanks Nick

Nick,
TNA has the following files on him: ADM 188/640/48633 (can be downloaded online)
AIR 79/2240/248633 (not yet digitised) Enlisted RNAS 30 Jan 1918. He was fitter by civilian occupation. Errol |

Thanks Errol.
He lived at Townhead, in Thurlstone, adjacent to Penistone & his father was a railway inspector. One of his older brother was a porter, so I think that there is a fair chance he worked on the Great Central Railway also.

... and he looks as if he died in Sheffield, in March 1980, so it may be that someone recorded him ?
